Outsourcing IT? While there is a certain comfort in having some poor, harassed internal IT person, the benefits of an outsourced team are enormous.

With an in-house person, you are more likely to make allowances for their ‘off’ days but with a supplier, there are less grey areas. They deliver within the parameters of their promise or they don’t get paid. If they still don’t deliver, fire them and hire their more competent competitor. No unfair dismissal claims, no issues of conscience.
