Telstra is being Telstra – applying old ideas to new ways of operating. I can’t get over the fact that Telstra has mandated that their best advocates must participate in “social media training programs” before they are allowed to participate in the community.

Help me here…The US Air Force has a policy about how their personnel participate in the community – and that doesn’t include “brainwashing”. So a US Government defence arm is comfortable that they have competent people who can read and adhere to a policy but Telstra requires all staff to be “brainwashed”?

And all this is after Telstra made such a public commitment to social media and blogs and Twitter…Nothing like closing the gate after the horse has bolted…
